Professor sacked for signing Correctio Filialis

Reactions
Stift Heiligenkreuz: Professor dismissed because he asked Pope for the affirmation of the church teaching.

Cardinal Burke, Professor Stark and a monk of Heiligenkreuz....

"New cleansing of the critics of Amoris laetitia: Professor dismissed. [...]

The dismissal of Professor Stark is not to be read as a reaction of the progressive hierarchy to the criticism of a conservative lecturer, but rather as a struggle between the neo-conservative faction, which proves to be ultramontane and over-zealous to obey the Pope everywhere and the traditional world , which does not hesitate to correct even the actions and omissions of a pope if they are contrary to the Gospel and Tradition. The case of Professor Stark adds to the dismissal of Professor Josef Seifert from the Institute of Philosophy of the Archdiocese of Granada, which was decided by local bishop Francisco Javier Martinez. In this case, too, the offence was: lack of enthusiasm for Amoris laetitia. "

On October 19, 2017, Il Foglio commented on the dismissal of Professor Thomas Heinrich Stark, a signatory of the Correctio filialis against the spread of heresies, who taught at the Philosophical and Theological College of Benedict XVI. of the Cistercian monastery of Heiligenkreuz in Austria. Rector, Father Karl Wallner and Major Chancellor Abbot Maximilian Heim, on 15 October, dissociated themselves in a public statement from the Correctio and a "Guest professor". The name of Prof. Stark was not mentioned. On 18 October the students of the university were informed by the board of the Institute of Philosophy, that Prof. Stark's examinations were being invigilated by Prof. P. Marian Gruber. The distancing and dismissal of Prof. Stark was justified by the fact that cum Petro et sub Petro has been regarded as a special characteristic "since their foundation in 1802".

The late Cardinal Carlo Caffarra said ten months ago:

"Only a blind man can deny that with Amoris laetitia the greatest confusion rules in the church."

Cardinal Burke slams SSPX

Reactions
"A few months ago, a kind reader reported that Cardinal Raymond Burke, at the Sacred Liturgy Conference that was held in Medford, OR, in July, had publicly declared that the FSSPX is “in schism” while advising the faithful to neither attend their liturgies nor receive their sacraments.

If true, I understood that this would be important information to share for obvious reasons, but I decided that it was first necessary to obtain irrefutable confirmation as to what was actually said.

Today I received an audio-recording"- the link also gives the full story.

Cardinal says Muslims and Christians Don’t Worship ‘the Same God’

Reactions
"According to the former head of the Vatican’s highest court, Cardinal Raymond Burke, Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God, since Allah is a “governor,” whereas Christianity was “founded on love.”

The modern belief that Islam and Christianity are fundamentally the same “is very much influenced by a relativism of a religious order,” the Cardinal said at a recent press conference.

“I hear people saying to me, well, we’re all worshipping the same God. We all believe in love. But I say stop a minute, and let’s examine carefully what Islam is, and what our Christian faith teaches us.”"

Explosive video. "Pope will show whose side he’s on" at the synod

Reactions
Interviews with Archbishop Lenga, Bishop Schneider and Cardinal Burke.

"If this means that cardinals will be opposed to cardinals, then we simply have to accept the fact that...that that's the situation which we find ourselves. Certainly for my part, I don't look for this kind of conflict, but...if in defending the truth of the faith I end up in a disagreement or a conflict with another cardinal what has to be primary to me is the truth of the faith and to, as a teacher of the faith, as a pastor of souls, to defend that truth." - Cardinal Burke in the interview.

Call for Pope to over-rule conservative outcome of October Synod.

Reactions
Ritually German bishops warn against exaggerated expectations of the Synod.

Finally Catholics may talk about sex. And then they do not know what to say to each other. In a month, the Synod begins in Rome, but it's just strangely silent. The conservative camp is sinking in prayer, so that the teaching should remain unaffected. This group has earned some rest as it has been worn out in a long campaign. Especially their top men Raymond Burke and Vitus Huonder have pounded away for the Catholic marriage and against feminization, effeminacy, and other weaknesses in the connective tissue of society. The liberal camp also was not idle- it has adopted position papers. They all praise the diversity of ways of life, but with vocabulary less than diverse. Roughly speaking, each should feel "valued" and "accepted" in their break-ups in life. Everyone, except perhaps Burke and Huonder.

Francis wanted a debate. What he got so far, was a self-assurance from the combatants. The Conservatives are even stiffer than usual, the Liberals explain the jitters to the reform movement. The Osnabrück Bishop Franz-Josef Hermann Bode, one of the German envoys to Rome, said in an interview with Herder Correspondence: "My great concern is that the synod remains in the camps and there remains in the end only winners and losers." There must be no winners and losers, for which also other brethren in ecclesiastical office pray. Why so scrupulous? Church history is full of victors and vanquished. The infallibility of the Pope was decided at the First Vatican Council of 1870 also because the German bishops were outvoted. Under protest they departed and had to henceforth accept infallibility. Also at the Second Vatican Council, there was for all important documents majorities and minorities. Whosoever was defeated, had to come to terms. Or construct their own church. It is as brutal as this when the Holy Spirit is to be captured by voting results.
Why should it now go easy? Ritually German bishops warn against exaggerated expectations of the Synod. Courage sounds different. In fact, the expectations of the base are rather too low than too high:  Most Catholics are beyond the sex obsession. They look on the Synod as more sex-symbolic: Rome to make a few swings of the hips, loosen the corset easily, that's enough. No details, please. Francis is welcomed by the grass roots, because he does not get on the nerves of  his subjects - like his predecessor – with narratives relating to the crotch.

Because the subject of sexual morality neither at top nor bottom is erotically arousing, the Catholic Church should put the matter behind them as quickly as possible. This includes the clear message: If bishops vote in a Vatican auditorium, it is a mater of defining power. Anyone who really wants to has to organize majorities, coolly and dispassionately. The Conservatives have it easy. They reach  a blocking minority. You do not need to win to triumph. They hope for the weakness of the other.
The liberal camp shuns the power grab. It hides behind the Gospel of Mercy, which Cardinal Walter Kasper has proclaimed That sounds cute, all is well and woe to no-one. But the parable of the Good Father can also be read in a polarizing manner: The most interesting figure is the Prodigal son. He must accept that his brother after whoring around in a foreign country returns home burnt out and receives from his father not a punishment but gets a feast. As the Prodigal asks why he never received a reward, he gets to hear: The proximity to the father was reward enough. Because he must have felt like a loser, but he had to deal with it.

With the keyword mercy, the liberals have the empathic view of the sinner son. They take the Catholics in "irregular" situations, the remarried, homosexuals, the unmarried unchaste.  But mercy belongs also to truth: it is a disgrace for the those faithful to the Magisterium. Before Francis moved into Rome, the Prodigals got one Pope-party after the other, now they should clean the dishes and be grateful. So what? For years, the liberals had let themselves to be brushed up by the Magisterium liberals. Why is this so hard for them, to draft others for dishwashing service? Do they not trust their truth?

Papa Francisco so far knocks neither his conservative nor his conservative-liberal sons on his shoulder. A flip side, however, is apparent: remarried were not excommunicated, he said recently. There were marriages, which it is not possible to save. Sticking to the rules does not make of Christianity. If nine out of ten Catholics have no problem with ignoring doctrine, then doctrine has a problem. Francis saw it differently, he might have spared himself the effort of the  unloved linking of marriage and sexual morality.   If the liberal camp from a lot of trembling knees at the end of October does not gain a two-thirds majority, Francis must do something himself. You could almost forget lots of democracy and debate simulation.  Yes: The man is Pope.

Cardinal Burke enters the resistance

Reactions
The American Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke does not give into
the changes in the Vatican since the advent of Pope Francis. Dismissed at the
end of 2013 from the Congregation for Bishops, the equivalent of a ministry in
the Catholic Church, Cardinal Burke has not departed from a holy zeal.
Raymond Burke has lost much on the day in February 2013 when
Benedict XVI decided to give up his office. It must be said that this canon
lawyer owes much to him in his ascent to the highest offices of the Roman
Catholic Church. But more importantly, the two prelates were on the same line
of conservative thought. "This is a teacher of the faith," the
Cardinal likes to say in French, who today resembles a bit an orphan.

The advent of Pope Francis in March 2013 for Cardinal Burke
sounded the end of an era of certainty and defence of an institution which
suffers from a transparency deficit. Francis' positions on the family,
homosexuals, careerism of the "princes of the Church," the Vatican
bank's practices, agitate therefore all that the Vatican count as ultraconservatives
who see it as a threat to doctrine. .

Against nature

Dismissed in the Congregation for Bishops, Cardinal
Burke loses a decisive power: the power to appoint bishops who are in line with
his conception of the Church. In his place, the Pope appointed a bishop, an American
like him, but much more moderate. Francis thus indicated his willingness to
favour the priests who are “close to the people” rather than “ambitious”, was
not an announcement made just for effect.

Since the Pope did not slow his march toward change,
the more conservative cardinals have become organized. In an interview
broadcast this Feb. 8 by France 2, Cardinal Burke states frankly all that is
upsetting them. "I do not accept that we give Communion to unmarried
couples before the Church. Because their irregular union is adultery, "he
says."As for homosexuals, he says, they have nothing to do with marriage.
It's a pain to be attracted to someone of the same sex. It is against nature,
"Cardinal digs in.

His comments come in response to those of the Pope, who when
speaking of homosexuals, said: "If a person is gay, they sought the Lord
and they are of good will, who am I to judge?". The interview was filmed
in the library of Cardinal, who for the occasion, is dressed in a fashion that
cannot be more traditional-  black
cassock, black cape trimmed in purple cap and red taffeta silk sash, a large
gold cross hanging from a chain,.

The forces of evil

When the France 2 reporter asks what he will do if the Pope
continues in this direction, the Cardinal unapologetically and Italian replied:
"I will resist. I cannot do anything else. Then he resumed, "there is
a malaise that is unmistakable." "It is painful, it is
worrying," the prelate continues. "But I have to get used to the new
Pope, ' he says in conclusion.

Someone that was until 2014 the head (governor) of the
Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the largest jurisdiction of the
Holy See, masters better than anyone the art of dialectic. Thus, when asked if
he thinks the Church is threatened as an institution, Raymond Burke looks down
and replies: "The Lord has assured us, as he assured to St. Peter in the
Gospel that the forces of evil will not win." Obviously no one will know
who these forces of evil are and who embodies them...

1The camera then shifts to a statue of Christ before landing
on a portrait of Pope Francis before which stands the cardinal who checks his
pocket watch. "Is the Pope still your friend?," the journalist then worries.
A solicitude which starts a smile from
Raymond Burke: "I do not want him to become my enemy," he said in a
half smile, while indicating that the interview is over.

Cardinal Burke says "I will resist" when asked what he will do when the Pope persists in his direction

Reactions

In a televised interview for the channel, France 2, February 8, 2015, Cardinal Raymond Burke says bluntly that will stand up to Pope François if he continues on the path of liberalization in the areas of the accession of divorced and remarried to communion and hospitality to homosexuals without "judgment".

La Porte Latine offers excerpts from his interview with Lionel Feuerstein, Karine Comazzi, Patrice Brugères, Nicolas Berthelot and Claire Aubinais for the magazine "1:15 p.m. Sunday" France 2.

"I do not accept that we give communion to remarried, divorced or unmarried couples in the Church because their union is irregular, it is adultery."

"As for homosexuals, they have nothing to do with marriage. It is a pain of being attracted to someone of the same sex which is against nature."

About the Pope who said about homosexuals "If a person is gay, they seek the Lord and is of good will, who am I to judge?," the reporter asked the cardinal

"If ever Pope Francis persists in this direction, what will you do? »

He replied:

"I will resist, I cannot do anything else. There is a malaise that is unmistakable. It is painful and worrisome. [...] But luckily, as we assured our Lord, the forces of evil will not prevail over the Church, they will not win. »

Pray that the cardinal goes to his logical conclusion and finally joins the fight frontally from Tradition to restore the Church which has suffered from the fatal Vatican Council II

Cathcon: It is clear this is enormous news.

Cardinal Burke's Pontifical High Mass in Vienna.

Reactions

To be in (modernist) limbo in the Jesuit church in Vienna

Reactions
Model of a new modern art installation, To be in Limbo, which was installed there two days ago.

Below is the actual installation before being lifted.   St Ignatius looks down in disgust from the pulpit whose height is never used.

A previous installation called Jesuit cosmos.

The Jesuits, the most decadent and neo-modernistic of all the orders.  The worse that could have happened would be to make one of their members Pope and it has.......

An earlier installation from the same team of Steinbrenner, Dempf and Huber in Klosterneuberg, whose Abbot banned Cardinal Burke from saying the Latin Mass in one of his associated churches.  He prefers the lowest expression of modern art to the highest expression of the human being to encounter God.

Cardinal Burke would complete the unfinished work of the last Papacy

10 Reasons Cardinal Burke Will Be the Next Pope

Reactions
I'm making a very bold and controversial claim: His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke will be the next Pope. I'm going to provide you with 10 solid reasons why the cardinals will rally to him in the conclave for the required 2/3 vote majority.

Let's be honest. Most people are claiming (or grumbling) that Cardinal Burke will never be elected as Pope. They say he's too heavy-handed, too ceremonial, too traditional, too political, and too serious to be papabile. If you're one of those people who think Burke is the best cardinal for the job, but look at your toes and sigh: "It'll never happen," then keep reading.

The problem is that the Burke naysayers are thinking like journalists and voters. (By the way, one of my favorite daily blogs: Rorate Coeli explains why the journalists get it wrong.)

When the doors of the conclave close, men who would usually vote one way, vote another. Under the staring eyes painted onto the ceiling of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, these cardinals know that history is being made. The Pope they elect will have a difficult vocation. The Pope they elect will change the lives of billions of people both now...and in the future.

I want to challenge you to think like a cardinal in 2013. The cardinals are worried. Most cardinals knew that Pope Benedict had considered abdication, but most of them never thought it could actually happen. Here we are 50 years after the Council, right in the middle of the Year of Faith, and then suddenly the Pope resigns.

Globally, the Catholic Church faces accusations. Here and there in local dioceses, there are spots of financial and sexual scandal (for example, in Los Angeles). The rumors in Rome surrounding Vatileaks, the Butler, and the Bank are still circulating. Cardinal O'Brien of Scotland just stepped down. The question of secular politicians and the Church is a concern. There is growing debate about liturgy and the Extraordinary Form. The SSPX dialogue fell flat. So in the middle of this storm, Pope Benedict abdicates. I think this is all part of the divine plan (Here's my post explain why I think the Blessed Virgin Mary asked Pope Benedict stepped down), but let's be honest. It's a traumatic time. Yet, whenever there is trauma, conservatism reigns.

The Cardinals will rally to a holy man who will prayerfully clean house and face down the evils, scandals, and rumors. There is only one cardinal who has vocalized a plan of attack for the political, liturgical, and canonical problems in the Church: his name is Raymond Cardinal Burke.

Cardinal Burke is the only one who has explicitly proclaimed a way forward in these times of trouble. As in the last papal conclave, the cardinals will turn to a man who operates on sound principles. A man whose virtue is known by all. A man of the Gospel.

With that being said, here are the 10 reasons why Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke will be elected Pope.

Cardinals: liturgical abuse weakens the Faith

Reactions
If the Mass is not celebrated according to the norms of the Church, it contributes to the weakening of Faith, say the Curia cardinals Raymond Burke and Antonio Canizares Llovera.

Liturgical abuses weaken faith in God, encourage selfishness and provide a reduction in numbers assisting at Mass. Curial Cardinals Raymond Burke and Antonio Canizares Llovera are convinced about this. They receive support from the liturgy expert Father Nicola Bux. During the presentation of the new book by Fr Bux both Curial cardinals spoke out.

Unfortunately, if many priests and bishops dismiss deviations from the liturgical norms as irrelevant although they are actually serious abuses said Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura. Cardinal Canizares shares this view: "The participation in the Eucharist can weaken the faith when if do not participate properly or if the liturgy is not celebrated according to the norms of the Church, "he said . This applies both for the ordinary and the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, added the former prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. Many modern Catholics were of the view the Mass is something that the priest and the faithful do together. In fact, it was all concerned with Jesus, said Fr Bux.

Pope Benedict's liturgical reform stalled- time for a new Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship

Reactions

The current incumbent started running crowned with laurels in advance of the race - and has in the four years of his activities established a disappointing record.

With the Motu Proprio 'Summorum Pontificum', of 7 uly 2007 Pope Benedict XVI founded a new liturgical reform movement. This holds many faithful, priests and seminarians in its spell. In the same year, he chose a native of Genoa, Monsignor Guido Marini as his master of ceremonies. At the same time he sent the Bugnini-schooled, liturgy destroyer, Archbishop Piero Marini , whom he inherited from his predecessor, into the desert.

Zero initiatives
In December 2008, Antonio Cardinal Cañizares Llovera (66) of Toledo was appointed prefect of the liturgy congregation. He had made a name in Spain as a theologian and catechist .  But after almost four years after his appointment of Cardinal, the balance is very meager. No impulse to revitalize the tradition. No curb of excessive liturgical abuses.

Nothing. The Cardinal seems to rest assured, that the concerns of the traditionalists have been moved to the CDF and are considered directly by the Pope.

A new Liturgy Prefect  is needed

The result: The renewal of the liturgy - a central theme of the current pontificate - does not move forward. This is the reason that the desire increases in the circle of papal master of ceremonies as well as among the liturgical consultants that the orthodox Cardinal Cañizares should be moved. A move to the Congregation for Education would be possible if the present incumbent, Cardinal Zenon Grocholewski (72) would resign soon.  Another possibility would be to Mission Congregation if Fernando Cardinal Filoni (66) was to be appointed the next Secretary of State. Cardinal Cañizares could also be a candidate for the new appointment to the now meaningless post at the CDF.

Maybe he would make a difference

The natural candidate for the succession as Liturgy Prefect is the US born prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, Cardinal Raymond Burke (63). He is a canonist. In the past, he has founded and encouraged traditional communities.  Cardinal Burke has written books on the decay of the liturgy and celebrated regularly in the Roman Rite.

As Bishop of La Crosse in Wisconsin and as Archbishop of Saint Louis in the US State of Louisiana, he helped his dioceses achieve new heights. He encouraged the rediscovery and cleaning of the liturgy as a true evangelization, prayer, concern for vocations, the seminaries and was uncompromising in his fight against the abortion ideology and the gay delusion.

de facto Cardinal Burke has occupied the position which Cardinal Cañizares has left empty. And, for many he is the only member of the College of Cardinals, who would continue the concerns of the pontificate of Benedict XVI as the next Pope.
