Two Brazilian humorous hit songs about Pope and Argentina

Reactions
A Brazilian group has filmed a video clip as a humourous take on the election of the Argentian Pope Francis and they do not lose the opportunity make ironic comments about our (Argentinian) lack of humility, the sovereignty claim over the Falkland Islands (see Pope backs Argentinian sovereignty over Falklands Islands) and the old addiction of Diego Maradona to drugs. "Messi is divine, the Pope is Argentinian and Maradona is no longer a 'snifa' (inhaler of cocaine) as usual ...

Congratulations to the Pope that you send to the Church" , sings the humorous duo of Rogerio Cordoni, vocalist of the band "Doctor Smith" and Diogo Portugal . Throughout the clip the musicians and comedians appear disguised as Cardinals, tango dancing and parodying Maradona with a bulging belly, an extravagant wig and a football shirt of the blue and white of the Argentinian football team. "Papal Nation" is the title and the refrain of the song that does not lose the opportunity to address the known self-esteem of Argentines, saying that with the arrival of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio the throne of Peter is the"first time in history an Argentinian agrees to serve under God. "

Choosing Francisco has resulted in comments in mischief laden Brazilian media, as an article published in the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo showed two weeks ago in which the author wonders far will ego of the "brothers" who, in addition to the Pope , have the world's best player, Messi, while it is just one year before the the 2014 World Cup Final which will be played at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro . The clip concludes by recalling that Gardel " is in heaven " and that while "the Pope is Argentine, God is Brazilian" , repeating the phrase uttered by President Dilma Rousseff to reporters after meeting with Francis the Vatican on Wednesday March 20. A few weeks agop in the comedy program "uncoded" presented the "Papal Cumbia" (Cumbia-meaning) asserting "Pancho the First is larger than Pele" . (Pancho is an term of endearment for Francis)

Pope backs Argentinian sovereignty over Falklands in long private meeting with President Kirchner-

Reactions
A cup of mate tea for each party was served during the almost two hours twenty minutes that the Holy Father Francis I and President Cristina Kirchner remained together.

Officials with access to the participants  informed Infobae that "the meeting was actually better than expected."

Cristina said that she saw Bergoglio as "serene, safe, peaceful, quiet, busy and preoccupied."

For a government source who was consulted, "the lunch marked a turning of the page in the relationship between the two actors."

The Pope's gesture of offering to meet the President emerged from work on several points by Chancellor Héctor Timerman, the Religious Affairs Secretary, Guillermo Oliveri and the Argentine ambassador to the Vatican, Juan Pablo Cafiero .

On Friday afternoon, the Protocol Office of the Pope called to invite Cristina to lunch. Parrilli Oscar, with his phone in hand near to the President in Olivos, responded affirmatively.

Malvinas: When Cristina suggested that his Holiness intercede with the United Kingdom to comply with the United Nations resolutions calling for dialogue, the successor of Pope Benedict privately confirmed its position in favor of the sovereignty of Argentina islands.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Government David Cameron had reacted quickly to Cristina Kirchner's position and  said his government hoped that the Vatican does not change position.

Youth: At lunch there was an opportunity to address the future agenda of the Holy Father and his trip to Brazil where he will attend the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro.

In this context, there was occasion to exchange views about youth involvement in the affairs of public life. And it was Francis who was "positive" about the incorporation of  youth in politics.

Visit: Without hesitation, the President extended invitation for an official visit to Argentina and which should be arranged by José María Arancedo , head of the Episcopal Conference of Argentina (CEA) and the Religious Affairs Department of the Argentine government.

As explained Cristina Kirchner, the Pope is not only the head of the Catholic Church but also head of the Vatican State, and thus to comply with protocol a 'double invitation " is issued.

Infobae learned that in the coming hours meetings will begin between Argentine officials and members of the Church to find a date.

Some predicted it would be in conjunction with the visit to Brazil, in July of this year, but since there are elections in October in our country, to take away any speculation about "photo" opportunities in the Presidential residence, it is more likely to be towards the end of the year.

Source Cathcon- if these reports are true, we can expect some statement from the Pope during his visit to his homeland.

Austrian Bishop supports call to disobedience

Bishop Kräutler supports Parish Priest Initiative
The aims of the Parish Priest Initiative from lay preaching to the ordination of married men are concerns throughout the universal Church. That says a native of Austria, Bishop Erwin Kräutler, who in his Brasilian diocese in the Amazon region has 30 priests for 900 parishes.

The central concerns of the Austrian Parish Priest Initiative are not confined to Europe, but concern the entire global church, said Bishop Erwin Kräutler."I have been Bishop for 31 years of the largest area in Brazil. In all texts, small and large, it is written: The Eucharist is the centre and the deepest mystery of our faith. Of this, I am also sure. And then we deny some people the Eucharist. That's the point."

"We need to feel the pulse of the universal Church"
In order to arrive at solutions, Kräutler suggests a global survey of bishops. "But that should be made on condition that the respective local bishop consults diocesan committees. He can say: As bishop, I have this opinion, my priest are of that opinion and the religious take that direction. And the laity are fully intent on this happening. That would be feeling the pulse of the world church - from Japan to Alaska and down to Tierra del Fuego – wherever" says Kraeutler.

"Ecclesiastical life is under threat of ending"
One thing is for Bishop Erwin Kräutler with 30 priests for 900 municipalities also clear: either the baptized and confirmed organise their own church life, or this would end sooner or later.
