Identity of Cardinal who will proclaim name of new Pope

The French Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran that  have the honour of announcing the famous phrase "Habemus Papam" followed by the name of the new Pope.

The Catholic world will then be hanging on the words of the French cardinal, 70, who appears at the window of St. Peter's Basilica to announce in latin: "Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum: Habemus Papam!"

Previously having been head of the ministry for inter-religious dialogue, Jean-Louis Tauran was appointed in 1990 Secretary for Relations with States, becoming the youngest bishop ever to take over as head of the Vatican diplomatic core. In 2005, it fell to the Chilean Jorge Arturo Medina to announce the election of Joseph Ratzinger as the new Pope and in 1978 the Italian Pericle Felici announced to the world the election of Karol Wojtyla.
