Fight outside meeting of German Catholic Bishops

Fight about criticism of the church, man slightly injured.

A man was slightly injured on Saturday in a clash in Trier. He had previously taken offense at an art event that was taking place on the occasion of the Episcopal Conference.

The reason for the confrontation was apparently an art event that was taking place on the occasion of the Spring Assembly of the German Bishops' Conference, currently being held in Trier. Several people, including two men dressed as bishops pushed a pram through the pedestrian zone,to which were attached posters, which made criticism of the Catholic Church. According to our investigations, a passer-by took offense at the art event and snatched a poster one of the artists. Then a tussle developed in the course of which the 59-year-old passer-by was slightly injured.

The incident occurred around 17.30 clock in Trier's Brotstraße. Trier The Police Inspectorate has started an investigation.
