An ecumenical service in the middle of a Dutch canal. The man who looks like a Catholic priest is a protestant and the woman is a Catholic stealth priestess and a nun from the Sisters of Maria Magdalena Postel.
Who needs a Church, when you have got a boat?

Earlier this year, the Parish said goodbye (pictures below). The drifting nun is now ministering in another parish.

"The Archbishop of Birmingham, the Most Rev Vincent Nichols, today preached a homily : at a Mass for priests who are learning the traditional Latin Mass in Oxford in preparation for its liberation next month. The homily is superb – a perfectly judged response to the Pope’s desire to strengthen unity by easing restrictions on the ancient liturgy."

Any suggestions for who said of Queen Elizabeth I. The answer is surprising.
"as just and merciful as Nero, and as good a Christian as Mahomet".

A contemporary portrait shows her standing astride England. A statue of "Truth" erected at the same time in St Peter's Basilica in Rome has a thorn sticking into her foot. The thorn is rooted firmly in England.
