Vigil in the Archdiocese of Boston

'We know how the archbishop can end it peacefully right now'

State of Missouri

to help 400 Archdiocese workers losing jobs

Teikyo Event Center - formerly Our Lady of Loretto Chapel

now offers do-it-yourself religion. You must even bring your very own minister.

Former Catholic Church

in City of Lakeville now in the arts business instead of saving souls. It even won an award.

Sacred Heart Cultural Center, Augusta, Georgia

They claim is "firmly anchoring downtown Augusta to its cultural and spiritual roots". Laughable.

Flower festivals as a substitute for religion, just like in the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Brussels- see earlier posts. The Brussels Church still functions as a Church, just!

St Augustine's Priory, Newton Abbot, Devon

As it was before closure in 1983

The Abomination of Desolation

Fiat Mihi asks on their blog what the exact meaning was of this phase.

Fiat Mihi

remains my all time favorite blogspot despite describing Cathcon as the most depressing blog on the web. Fiat Mihi is one of the most uplifting blogs on the web and should be visited after this one, as a cure for the soul affected by all the necessarily depressing truths and images that are found here.

My house shall be a house of prayer

but you have turned it into a disco in order to attract the youth. All in favour of mission to youth but this approach is bound to fail. You cannot compete with real nightclubs, the young people will think the church is all about discos and pleasure or it is nothing, they will lapse and in twenty years the same Church will be closed. Pastoral misadventure.

Sister of "Mercy"

The Diocese of Albany's "Chancellor for planning and pastoral services" has spend two decades or most of her career closing churches. Communists believed in planning, Catholics should believe in Providence and prayer.

And she should have been minding her own order.

"Turley's own Sisters of Mercy religious community is downsizing due to declining membership. Six separate communities across the Northeast, each with its own leadership, will be merged into one next year."

If you believe with all your heart in managed decline, that is exactly what you will get.

Diocese of Albany diocese to close three churches

on June 30, Feast of St Paul the Apostle. Ironic, they close churches on the Feast of the greatest missionary of the Church.

Archdiocese of Boston plans to audit parish funds

as a means of boosting public confidence and as a means of giving them more control.
