Priestess by stealth

Reactions
Meet Frau Hildegard Neuwirth, the Parish Assistant of Steyrermühl in Austria.

"Seelsorge" is the term normally reserved for the parish priest, yet this is how she signs herself. Lest there should be any doubt of her pretentions, this is a confirmation Mass conducted in the Parish.

Close-up

Our Lord is confined in a tea-urn tabernacle, the Cross is empty and has to compete with the overhead screen, the organ seems just as important as the altar in the sanctuary (if you can call it that) and this is another "rainbow" Church. It is also a footprint Church but the footprints start from nowhere in particular and are going nowhere. Is this what they mean when they describe the parish, as "the Church among humanity"?

Frau Neuwirth also styles herself parish director. By their fruits, you shall know them! The "Steyrermühl One" is trying to achieve by subterfuge what the "Danube 7" attempted on a boat in 2002 in open defiance of the Church and her teaching.

But there are other "stealth" priestesses trying to fly under the Roman radar in the Diocese of Linz (photos from the 'Liturgical Exchange' on the Diocescan website)

An audition for Star Trek (boldly go, where no woman.... and you know the rest)

The total liturgical chaos reigning in the Diocese of Linz has already forced the resignation of the Bishop. But at the installation of the new Bishop, all they talked about was continuity. Now, we know what they mean by continuity.

The old and the new Bishops of Linz. Which is which?

More on the Biker of God

Reactions
as apparently Father Charly is known.

Here is another of Father "Batman" Charly's Masses. Acting on the stage instead of in persona Christi.

Father Charly thinks that only human beings differentiate between homosexuals and heterosexuals and that God cannot see the difference. He also thought that Mel Gibson's film, "The Passion" was violent because modern cinema audiences demand violence. A strange comment from a priest who is so desperate to please his audience. Ironically the normal accusation against the film is that it is too medieval not too modern. The truth is that the film transcends the centuries, as it reflects the reality of the Passion.

to St Michael
O Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, the spirits of evil. Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was thier place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels.

Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition the souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind
and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impiety, and of every vice and iniquity.

These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so well conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church.

Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Therefore having confided ourselves to thy protection and tutelage, we sacred ministers by our authority [if one is a layman, or a cleric who has not yet received the order of exorcist, say instead: by the authority of Holy Mother Church], trusting and secure in the Name of Jesus Christ Our God and Lord, we approach to repel the infestations of diabolical deceit.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
R. The Lion of the tribe of Juda has conquered, the root of David.
V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
R. As we have hoped in Thee.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And Let my cry come unto Thee.

St. Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. We humbly beseech God to command him. Now architects home and office. Take a tour (=rundgang) by clicking on the link at the bottom of the article. The architect says, "when the altar and tabernacle goes, then its no longer a Church but only a building"- which shows contempt for all the prayers of the Faithful in the short history of this parish. Others would feel guilty about desecrating a Church.

Our Lady of Cultural Differences

Reactions
blasphemy in Brussels. Caution. Link displays very offensive poster described in text. What is the betting Cardinal Danneels says precisely nothing on this outrage? Even though several performances take place in his Cathedral town of Mechelen/ Malines next to the former Jesuit Church. Again caution with the link.

"Chokri Ben Chikha is a young Tunisian author, actor and singer. Ben Chikha was born and raised in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking north of Belgium. He has written a play and dance act about cultural differences to draw attention to the difficulties of young immigrants who are discriminated against by the natives.

The play is called “Our Lady of Flanders” (Onze Lieve Vrouw van Vlaanderen). The premiere is on 29 October in Brussels. The Brussels magazine Brussel XL asked the author: “Some of the dialogues are interspersed with antisemitism. What exactly is the meaning of that?” Ben Chikha answered:

“Antisemitism is alive amongst North Africans, whether you like it or not. It has to do with the Palestinian question. I am convinced that you have to talk about antisemitism. I am not going to solve it, but I have to show it. Moreover, not only the Arabs dislike Jews. My stepmother, a Polish woman, is very antisemitic as well. I think one should be able to laugh at anything, even at antisemitism.”

The latter sounds like a contradiction to me. He is not laughing at antisemitism, but at Jews. However, until I have seen the play I cannot judge. Perhaps the antisemitism is funny.

The poster for the play is probably meant to be funny too. It depicts the Virgin Mary with a howling child and a bowl of blood. She is barebreasted and is sitting next to a shield with the arms of Flanders. As a muslim immigrant Ben Chikha is apparently allowed to use such images, which make fun of the Flemings and ridicule the religion many of them adhere to.

Contrary to what Ben Chikha says there are things that one had better not laugh at, such as Islamic religion for instance. Some time ago a Dutch artist showed the backs of naked women with verses from the Quran written on them. This was considered blasphemy. A Muslim extremist ritually slaughtered the artist, Theo van Gogh, in broad daylight. That, certainly, is a cultural difference worth noting.

Ben Chikha need not fear being murdered in the street. On the contrary, his play is being subsidised by the Ministry for Culture. After the performances in Brussels it goes on a six-month tour through Flanders. The government encourages schools to attend."

Your Majesty, King Abdullah
Your Majesty Queen Rania
Prince Ghazi
Members of the delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
Father President
Distinguished guests from many faith communities

Dear friends all,

Your Majesty,

A few months ago, when I was privileged to pray for you on another occasion in this capital city, I asked Allah, the compassionate and merciful Lord of all the world, to bless you and to help you make your country a bridge across which all nations might walk in unity, fellowship and love. As I listened to your words today, I believe my prayer is being answered.

Indeed, the Amman Message of November of last year is a blueprint and a challenge not only to the great world of Islam, but to the whole human race. Your thoughtful leadership is a stirring invitation to all of us, especially to the people of the Book, the family of Abraham, who share so much and who are called to be brothers and sisters in God’s one human family.

You have taken to heart the words of Pope Benedict XVI when he addressed the Muslim leaders gathered with him in Germany last month and invited them all to join him in eliminating from all hearts any trace of rancor, in resisting every form of intolerance and in opposing every manifestation of violence. As you quoted in your splendid talk to us today, Pope Benedict called his listeners, in this way, to turn back the way of cruel fanaticism that endangers the lives of so many people and hinders progress for world peace.

Your Majesty’s call and that of the Holy Father are in so many ways the same. May Allah, the merciful and compassionate, continue to guide your steps along this noble path. May He guide and protect you, your family and your beloved country and may peace and justice come to all lands and all peoples through your efforts, your vision and your courage.

In the name of Allah, the merciful and compassionate God, we pray. Amen.

under the new law being proposed in the Belgian Parliament. Incredibly, I took this photograph today of hostile onlookers to a demonstration against homosexual adoption organised in the Belgian and European capital, Brussels. Here are some more pictures of the demonstration, in which over 1000 people took part , which was attended by only three priests and a nun. One nun was seen walking in the opposite direction to the demonstration, too busy with her shopping. Now, we already know that Cardinal Danneels does not condescend to such demeaning activities (in his eyes) such as defending faith and morals, but where were the rest of the Belgian clergy? Why did not they organise their parishes to attend?

The demonstation started at the Palace of Justice.
