Committee Will Review Boston-Area Church Closures

A pre-condition for the success of this review is to put on public record all correspondence and conversations between the Archdiocese, the Archbishop and the members of the Committee, specifically the two chairs of the Committee.

The twenty four parishes which the Archbishop claims have been closed peacably must demand their rights to be heard in this review. This is a matter of simple justice.

This is the press release from the Archdiocese

The Archbishop hopes that this panel will be a "group of leaders to function as a resource to the Archbishop". They have to be a resource for Catholic Boston, not the personal emissaries of the Archbishop.

The Archbishop admits that child abuse and the church closures are interrelated... but says that it is a matter of trust not of economics.

The Archbishop talks about fulfilling his responsibilities as a spiritual leader; so, how about abandoning the closures and start evangelising. He talks about the bond that all Catholics share in Christ, what has he done to strenthen this bond.
